The Great British Pitch
It is an exciting time for growing a small business in the UK with many opportunities on offer for small businesses to export on a global scale, providing vital growth and visibility.
To help small business owners get to know more about exporting and the real opportunity it presents, Small Business Britain and Government's Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (DBIST) launched the Great British Pitch campaign in November 2025.
This was created to sustain a pipeline of confident, export-ready small businesses by reducing barriers, improving knowledge and opening doors to international opportunities.
The Great British Pitch took place during International Trade Week 2025 with a one-day, in-person event held at BT's HQ in London.
It welcomed more than 100 small businesses giving them the opportunity to secure global export deals and experience pitching to an international audience.
Each business was given a pitching slot to buyers from all over the world, including the USA, India, Jordan, Singapore, South America and more, with many walking away with incredible experience and follow-up conversations.
Great British Pitch Europe
Join us for a dedicated pitching day where 50+ UK small businesses will have the opportunity to pitch directly to buyers in Europe. Alongside the pitching slots, there will be expert talks, workshops, mentoring and a fantastic reception event.
Some walked away with deals in the bag including Victoria Eggs, which secured a deal with a Mexican department store and Brilliant Gin, which is now exporting to China!
The day brought together small businesses, business leaders, Government officials and successful entrepreneurs to drive long-term small business export capability, confidence and growth, through improved digital skills, international trading opportunities and visibility on the global stage.

Great British Pitch India
In June 2026 the Great British Pitch went international, giving UK small businesses the opportunity to pitch directly to buyers in India - complete with our very own branded double-decker bus touring the sights of London.
Coming in 2026
Small Business Britain and the Government's Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade are doing it all again in 2026 with three incredible events lined up specifically for small businesses to gain worldwide export exposure and grow their businesses!
Great British Pitch India
Tuesday 16th June 2026This day allowed approximately 50 small business owners to pitch to buyers in India! In addition to the pitching opportunities there were talks, workshops, mentoring and a fantastic reception event.
Great British Pitch USA
Tuesday 8th September 2026This day will allow approximately 50 small business owners to pitch to buyers in the USA! In addition to the pitching opportunities there will be talks, workshops, mentoring and a fantastic reception event.
Great British Pitch Europe
Wednesday 11th November 2026The biggy! A full day allowing small business owners to pitch to buyers across Europe! There will be pitches, workshops, mentoring, talks, a very special reception and lots more!
International Market Experts will be on hand at each event for guidance, mentorship and advice.
